After an incredibly long time with very little activity on this website, I am now undertaking a refurbishment!
When I haven’t been producing jewellery, small children have been taking up all of my time, but now that sleep has improved slightly and my littlest has started at a nursery for a few mornings a week I hope that this website will be slightly less neglected! Keep an eye out to see new designs along with lots of other improvements! This photo shows my 2 distractions! it was taken at Colourscape - an amazing event that was held at the Holburne Museum in Bath over the summer.

I've got a few new designs in the pipe line at the moment. Having been away for a week at the beginning of September I have returned feeling inspired. Being away gave me the chance to refocus and recharge my batteries (just what was needed!). At the moment I am working on several pieces simultaneously - I hope to have some finished very soon!
Another piece of news that I have been meaning to share with you is that I have recently started selling my work at 2 fantastic galleries.
The first is Teal, a fantastic gallery in Clifton, Bristol. It specialises in 20th and 21st century decorative arts, in particular Scandinavian glass and ceramics alongside contemporary jewellery. It is a tiny gallery, but is perfectly formed and I am very pleased to display my work there. Unfortunately they do not have a website so you will just have to pop in instead (their address and contact details are on my exhibitions page). The second gallery is Dunlin and Diver in Deal, Kent. It sells fantastic, contemporary, handmade art and craft. The standard of work is amazing, and if you are ever in Kent, I would definitely recommend going in. Their website is www.dunlindiver.co.uk . After much deliberation I have finally got myself a Facebook page!!! It is: Jennifer Payne - Jewellery
I hope this will enable me to keep you better informed with everything that I get up to. Please take the time to check it out and 'like' it if you want to keep up to date and hear about all my antics!!! Thanks for reading! This Sunday (1st June) I am going to have a stall at the Art Car Boot in Frome. It is a fair I have done once before and it is a great event - really fantastic work and a great opportunity to meet lots of creative and talented people! I am really looking forward to going! I am sharing my stall with the amazing illustrator Rosie Webb. Her work is just fantastic - really humorous and it always makes me smile! You can see her work here. It would be great to see you there! The first thing I wanted to let you know about is that I was recently interviewed about my work. I really enjoyed answering the questions - it gave me the chance to sit back and think about my process and what I have achieved recently. I found it was a great way to reflect on pieces I have completed in order to drive my ideas forward. If you would like to read my interview it can be found here. The past few months have been incredibly busy, and yet have not had a chance to tell you any of my news. I am therefore going to try and update you with the different things I have been up to in several different blog posts over the next few weeks..... Well I can't believe it, but another North Bristol Arts Trail is over! I was so busy in the run up that I didn't even have time to put a post on here to let you all know about it! However, I don't think it made very much difference this year as the footfall was incredible. Good weather and amazing artwork definitely helped! It was a fantastic weekend and I got to meet a huge number of lovely people. The weekend ended with everyone being completely exhausted - but it really was worth it!
Thanks to everyone that I met over the weekend! Yesterday I dropped my work off at a pop-up shop in Cabot Circus, Bristol. I was so impressed with the quality of the work showing - the shop looks amazing and I would absolutely recommend having a look! Check out the Made in Britain blog to see some more information about the show!!! www.madeinbristol.blogspot.co.uk I have finally got around to uploading some photos of my more recent designs onto this website. I am sorry that this has taken so long, but life always seems to get in the way! These are the pieces that were completed in time for the North Bristol Arts Trail last November. I've got some new work in the pipeline so will try to get those online a little quicker!
I hope you like them!!!!! |
